I’m Andrey Yoshua Manik, an engineering manager based in Bogor, in Greater Jakarta. I’ve spent more than a decade building software products, first as a developer, then as a lead, and now as a manager of engineers.
Today, I lead frontend engineering across iOS, Android, and web at Traveloka. I also founded Biissa, which I ran full-time before joining Traveloka and now lead part-time, building operations products for restaurants, shoppers, and schools.
Hiring, clear feedback, and promotions are the core of the job, not a side task. At Tokopedia, I promoted four engineers.
When timelines get tighter, I reach for clearer ownership, better planning, and automation. That kept Tokopedia’s monthly launches on schedule and roughly halved feature lead time at Traveloka.
Unit tests, automated UI regression, and tests that gate every merge make quality the default. At Traveloka, crash-free rates went up and incidents went down.
